I am a statue, bound to my escapism, my fantasy
for my wings cease to cary anything heavier than dust
I could protect you, if you should want me to
Knowing I'd gladly do so; Knowing that I must

But sadly, I admit, you are not an object in need of defense,
for you posess the ability to flee; Flee from those that wish you harm
And when you do, do not wait for me to follow, for I will remain
Wherever you may hide, I will remain with heavy arms

Tired from standing tall, when I'd rather be falling to pieces,
to give you the dramatic farewell you deserve
But I will continue my act of vigor until you are out of sight >>>
May I drown only myself, in this fountain of adjectives and verbs

I am a gargoyle, bound to my imagination, my dreams
for my wings cease to cary me, covered in rust
And when you return, do not return to me, for I will remain
